I am sorry I didn't participate in the Kentucky governor's race market. As a native of Kentucky, I knew better than to believe the spotty polling and the seeming internal squabbles of the Republicans, especially in an offyear. Our market, as a whole, missed badly on this one, with most of us either following the herd or (in my case) remaining silent.
Even more, though, I am sorry for those people (on Medicaid, etc.) who are likely to be hurt by the election of this extremist. That--much more than the errors in polling--is the real tragedy.
I have a suggestion for the managers of the site--don't be so quick to make closed markets disappear from view. Besides the inevitable gloating, griping, excuses, there may be some interesting post mortem analysis.
